KISSOCK: The death of Allan Boyd Kissock occurred at his residence, Fairview Home, on Thursday, February 10, 2011. Allan was born in Carberry, Manitoba. He was raised in Shilo and attended schools in Shilo and Douglas. He worked for Manitoba Telephone Systems until 1972 when he was forced to retire due to the progression of Multiple Sclerosis. He entered Fairview Home in 1987. In 1991 he was named to the board at Fairview and represented the residents concerns. He remained on the board after integration with the RHA and retired from the board in 2009. Allan is survived by his wife Rosemary; daughter Tracy (Terry) Mansel; son Boyd and grandson Lyle Kissock; his brothers Bob of Brandon, Jack of Portage La Prairie, and his sister Evelyn of Claresholm, Alberta. Allan was predeceased by his parents Jack and Mina Kissock and brothers Glen, Alex and William. A graveside service will be held at the Carberry Plains Cemetery on Tuesday, April 26, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. Rev. Barbara Jardine will officiate. The family would like to extend their sincerest thanks to the doctors, nurses and staff at Fairview for the devoted care and friendship they provided to Allan.
